R.G. Yoho, a native of West Virginia, has a deep passion for history, particularly tales of the American West. As a proud member of the Western Writers of America and a 2022 Spur Award finalist, he is the author of the five-book Kellen Malone Western series, as well as various works of historical nonfiction and fiction.
Yoho is recognized as America's foremost authority on the life of Baldwin-Felts Agent and infamous coal mine spy, Charles E. Lively, whom he profiled in his biography, "Charles E. Lively: The Deadliest Man in the West Virginia-Colorado Coal Mine Wars."
His diverse career includes roles as a speaker, radio talk show host, and political columnist, in addition to being a retired laboratory technician and process operator in the chemicals industry. Furthermore, Yoho has served as the past president of West Virginia Writers, Inc.
He resides in Southeast Ohio, close to the Ohio-West Virginia border, with his wife of 43 years. Together, they have three children, a nephew who is like a son, and twelve grandchildren.
Growing up on a cattle farm, Yoho now raises registered Texas Longhorns alongside his son and grandsons.

In March, I attended the Tucson Festival of Books, where I explored various genres, including historical nonfiction. On the way home, we made a stop in Binger, OK, the hometown of one of my childhood heroes, Cincinnati Reds great and MLB Hall-of-Famer, Johnny Bench.
